The illusion settings are worked in white gold with star-shaped engraving around every stone, so the diamonds appear larger and brighter than their size suggests. The plaques step up gently towards the centre, and a fine beaded edge outlines each one. Against the warm 18ct yellow gold of the slim band, the white gold heads stand out crisply, a two-tone finish associated with early twentieth-century rings.
