Engraved Locket

A Birmingham hallmarked locket from 1980 in 9ct yellow gold, finished with engraved scrolling decoration across the front panel. The oval form is framed by a textured outer border with repeating geometric detailing. The engraved surface combines flowing feathered lines with curved foliate motifs, creating contrast between polished and matte finishes across the gold. Raised edging around the centre panel gives the piece additional depth and structure while maintaining a compact silhouette. Bold in scale but classic in form, the locket has a distinctly traditional character with late twentieth-century craftsmanship. The warm gold tone and detailed hand engraving give the piece a strong decorative presence whether worn alone or layered with finer chains.
