This vintage necklace showcases a delicate, seed pearl studded swallow in flight – a design incredibly symbolic to the Victorian era. Swallows were given as a sign that a lover would return, and were often gifted by sailors to their loved ones. This diving swallow holds a smooth, puffed heart within its beak with a single seed pearl and a mark for 15ct on its reverse.
The pendant meets a dainty chain via each side of the bird’s forked tail, with the total length of the necklace measuring 16.5 inches.
