New trends at London Fashion Week S/S 2012

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the catwalks of London Fashion Week (LFW) and eagerly eating up all the new jewellery trends for Spring/Summer 2012.

The big, bold statement pieces of the last few seasons remain and in many cases are increasing in size and brightness.

Gemstones also remain on the popular list, like these Kimberly McDonald opal drop earrings trimmed with diamonds.

This Venessa Arizaga necklace incorporates the different colours, metals and textures.  The ‘Mixes’ theme continues to be a firm favourite in SS12.

Some of our favourite trends from LFW are:

WHITEWASH

Pretty feminine pieces worn in stacks and layers to compliment Summer’s whites. Clothing is highly tailored whilst jewels are looser adding minimalist style.

Look out for: cuffs and bangle stacks, diamonds, shiny white metal and chandeliers.

TRIBAL

Ethnic hues are making a come back next year. Asian elements will also be felt like in this collection by Mawi.

Look out for: coloured stones, gold, feathers, rope and beads.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL

Quirky multi-functional jewellery is becoming popular for S/S12.  Day to eveningwear pieces dominated the many of the runway shows.

Look out for: inspiring wristwrap to necklace designs.
